HUNTING RIDGE SCHOOL CLUBS
The following is a list of clubs usually offered by Hunting Ridge
School. Clubs may change yearly. Please contact the school for more
information.
Beginning
Band (5th Grade)

Band (5th and 6th

Hall & Door
Monitors (5th and 6th
Grade)
Hall and door monitors
monitor the outside doors by the cafeteria or the rear atrium doors.
They allow entrance for restroom use and to see the nurse. They also
help to maintain order in the lunch line.
Safety
Patrol (5th and 6th
Grade)
Safety Patrol is also
known as the Hunting Ridge Guard! Their duty is for 2 weeks. They
must be on guard at main bus entrance before and after school.
Chorus (5th and 6th Grade)
Chorus is made up of 5th and 6th graders who
have auditioned with Mrs. Leaf and who love to sing!
Lunchroom
Helpers (5th and 6th
Grade)
Lunch helpers are 5th
and 6th graders who help hand out lunch and sell milk and
ice cream for each lunch period. Lunch helpers receive ice cream
everyday!
Resource
Center Helpers (4th, 5th, and 6th
Grade)
Our student helpers
receive one ˝ day training session before they begin to work in the
LRC. Our helpers shelve books and assist students in finding their
books.
Koality Kids
Club (2nd – 6th
Grade)
Two representatives from
every classroom (2-6) attend once a month lunch meetings to discuss
Quality Tools. These tools will then be modeled for their peers back
in their classroom
Student
Council (4th, 5th,
and 6th Grade)
Hunting Ridge Student Council endeavors to promote, and actively
participate in the community. A variety of community outreach
activities that benefit community members are hosted each year. The
Student Council acts as a liaison between school, parents, and
community. The Council sponsors monthly Spirit Days and an annual
Spirit Week to encourage students to show school pride. They run a
school supply store every Tuesday at lunch and plan other activities
for the benefit of the school population. They also work for positive
change in the school. Students are encouraged to take an active role
in their school by directing ideas, suggestions, and concerns through
their class representatives as well as two suggestion boxes located on
the first and second floors.
Studio and
Announcer’s Club (5th and 6th
Grade) There are
five members on each Hunting Ridge Studio Club team; four students and
one adult sponsor. Teams work together behind the scenes for an
entire week planning, writing, and producing the morning
announcements. Students are trained and skilled in the use of each
piece of technology in the TV studio. Members
practice and polish the “show” until it is
perfect. At exactly 9:10 a.m. we go live from the WHR Studio, Channel
70, Hunting Ridge School with the day’s school news.
Intramurals
(5th and 6th
Grade)
Each month a different
sport is focused on. During the month the children will learn a few
pointers, but mostly play games. Each sport is designed to build
unity, cooperation, and comradery. The goal of intramurals is for
everyone to participate and have a good time.
Office
Helpers (6th
Grade)
Office helpers provide an
invaluable service to Mrs. Bergen, Mrs. Walt and Mrs. Auge. They are
responsible for delivering important messages, lunches, forgotten
homework and band instruments to the classrooms. Their service is
very much appreciated!
Lego
Team (6th Grade)
The Lego Team is a group
of students who work on building and programming a Lego robot while
another group prepares research for another part of the Lego League
competition
Math Team
Yearbook
(6th Grade)
Each year, a dedicated,
creative group of Hunting Ridge 6th grade students and PTA parents work together to produce a wonderful yearbook that
is full of the highlights of the past school year. This group gets
a lot of practice utilizing the computer to laying out the pages that
highlight the memories shared by the students and staff.
Recycling
Club (5th and 6th
Grade)
The Hunting Ridge Ecology
Club recycles the paper in the building, recycles ink cartridges from
printers and copy machines, and collects pop top tabs for the Ronald
McDonald houses. They also assist with Waste-Free lunches, and gym
shoe and pop can recycling. The students also have a puppet troop and
they stage environmental and moral based puppet shows for the primary
classes
