Welcome To Hunting Ridge School
And To
The Hunting Ridge PTA
What We Stand For
Our
Rich History
Hunting Ridge PTA Meetings
The Hunting Ridge PTA holds meetings approximately the
third Tuesday of each month at school. Some of these
monthly meetings are held at noon in the LRC
and the rest of the meetings are
held at 7pm in the Multi-Purpose Room or the
Teachers Lounge. The Hawk Herald, our
award winning school newsletter, publishes
these meeting dates. In addition, you can find
all important PTA dates and activities on this website.
Our monthly
PTA meetings are attended by general members, executive officers,
committee chairpersons, the principal, the
assistant principal
and two teacher representatives. Over forty
committees serve our
PTA. Committees are added, merged or disbanded as needed.
Money Matters
The Hunting Ridge PTA is a
not for profit 501 (c) 3 organization with tax exempt status. The membership
fee you pay when you join PTA is divided between National, State,
and local PTA dues. Hunting Ridge PTA does not rely on membership
fees to fund our projects.
The majority of our budget is raised from two fundraisers. Our
Ways and Means Committee holds a large fundraiser at the beginning
of the school year and Market Day, a co-op food service, rounds out
our fund-raising efforts once a month.
What Do We Do With The Money?
PTA programs are integrated
into every aspect of the Hunting Ridge student's day. We sponsor
curriculum based and cultural programs. We sponsor the
National PTA Reflections
program and reading incentive programs. PTA also
sponsors family activities like our annual picnic, Gym Nights, the
Multi Cultural Fair, and
Kindergarten Orientation. PTA helps to provide a myriad of
enrichments for all students throughout the year. The
treasurer's report, detailing PTA expenditures, is published monthly
at PTA meetings.
